There are many ways to enjoy the natural world. However learning about and interacting with wild creatures may be one of the best. Join naturalist extraordinaire Jim White in exploring the diverse habitats of the Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge. Participate in an illustrated and hands-on program that will take you deep into the fascinating world of the refuge's wild residents. Dogfish beer and snacks provided.

Freshwater marshes have many rare and interesting insects. We will search for beetles, butterflies, dragonflies and lesser known types of insects such as collembolans and scorpion flies. Try your hand at catching these animals - nets and other collecting equipment will be provided.
